This 19th century school house offers superb B&B with a difference. Your spacious accommodation comprises the entire ground floor of this beautiful stone building including own front door, hallway where dining table is located, en-suite shower room, large bedroom and lounge area with leather chesterfields overlooking own secluded garden. Ideal for a couple or a family up to 6 although we are happy to provide single occupancy.

There is garage parking accessed by steps. The Old School House is in a quiet location although centrally located, less than a five minute walk from the quay and is open all year.

Wireless Internet Access is also available.

Your accommodation

A spacious room with one double and two single beds (there is room to include a further single bed if required), a lounge area with a two seater leather Chesterfield and two matching chairs,  overlooking own west-facing secluded garden where you can enjoy the sun in the afternoon and evening. A further single bed can be arranged in a separate room if required. Other facilities include a television, fridge, kettle, coffee/tea and wine glasses. The room is centrally heated although there is a small fan heater. Children and pets are welcome.
A cot and a highchair are also available.

Dining

The dining table is available for those who would like to enjoy a take-away. There are excellent Indian and Chinese restaurants and great Fish and Chips from the local pub, all located in Kingsbridge within a 4 minute walk. This is ideal for parents with very small children, as the table is located in the hallway, just off the bedroom/lounge.

 


Staying in Kingsbridge

Kingsbridge is a brilliant base for a holiday as it is positioned in the middle of a peninsular, with so many lovely beaches a 15 minute drive away. There are some excellent restaurants in the town (only a few minutes walk), a quaint cinema and during the summer a ferry boat runs to Salcombe. For children there is an adventure park (25 mins), zoo (60 mins) and an aquarium (45 mins) drive away. The town of Dartmouth can be reached by a scenic bus ride.

When entering Kingsbridge on the A381 from Totnes, after driving through the Mounts at the first roundabout take the first exit signposted to Ledstone and stay on this road, this will bring you in the back way to Kingsbridge.
After passing under the pedestrian footbridge and passing the Dodbrooke Inn on the the left you will join the one way system and actually be in Church Street. At the Zebra crossing turn left (you have to) and you will pass our B&B sign on the left.
Proceed to to the bottom of the hill and turn left in front of the King of Prussia Pub into Ebrington Street  and then left into Saffron Park, just after No 44 at the brow of the hill turn left into the garage complex. Park in the single garage in the bottom left hand corner (adjacent to the only double garage) please do not park outside as the double garage is in constant use.
Once you have parked your car, walk through a small alleyway between the garages, halfway down the steps ring the doorbell at the side gate on the left.
